New Media Questions

A. What I liked about this class was the fact that it was a really fun class, and I was able to learn a lot of life lessons that will surely help me in my future and on my way to college... I felt that life planning also helped me because it helped me realize what I want to accomplish in my life. Overall, I had a great time in this class and I cant really say anything bad about it.

B. I feel that in order to make this class better, we need to have people focus on what we are learning and to stop laughing or saying things during lectures.

C. I feel like I could have done better in this class, but in a way I felt I tried my best because I kept bringing my life planning journal and I did all of my almost all my assignments contributing to my grade.

D. Honestly, I do read them when I come to new media. I try my best to read them at my house, so I can get an idea of what I want to accomplish the next day. Overall, any free time I may have, from now on I want to dedicate at least 2 minutes, like in New Media, to read my life planning goals.

E. I am committed to being a CTR person because I am willing to always be a good person, regardless of the situation, and to stay away from bad influences or anything that can stop me from accomplishing the goals I really want in life. I will always try my best from now on to keep up what I am doing to be a successful, CTR, individual.

F. I will promise to start exercising to achieve physical well being. I promise to go to church more often to achieve spiritual well being. I promise to always meditate to achieve mindfulness well being.

Interdisciplinary Unit Experience

"Interdisciplinary Project Experience"

From the beginning, I was a little confused about the project since there was so many parts to it, and the idea of presenting in front of a panel, made me quite nervous. Me and my group were behind the first 3 weeks, because we lacked communication and we had to meet up more frequently. It came to the point where I had no choice but to finish the project myself, which means, I had to do the power-point by my self. Yes, I know it wasn't fair but I did not want suffer from a low grade so I stepped up to the challenge. Then came the day we all had to rehearse for Van Hill and we took the challenge and came out pretty successful. I feel that we were on the right track, and although we didn't have a perfect presentation, we did well and just needed to rehearse a bit more and we would be fine. Of course, my group members made excuses as to not meet up and rehearse, so I decided to do it myself.... I practiced with my parents, my sister, my friends and I love how in the end, they came through as their support really motivated me to dominate my part, (EXPO). Well, it was the day of the showcase and when I was at my house, I had showered and dressed up. I combed my hair, brushed my teeth, and put on cologne. I wanted to look good for my presentation as well as for the ladies. But in the end, I couldn't stop thinking about my presentation.. I thought about not showing up, because I feared I was going to make a mistake, but then I said to myself ,"Look Rodrigo, you have just one night, you've practiced, you've researched, you got this!" This motivated me as I left my house to get to my school, to present my power-point. Once I got in school, I was very nervous, because I was worried my group members had not memorized their parts of the presentation. But when we got into our assigned room, I felt confident for some reason.... maybe it was the support of my loved ones, or was it simply because I had studied? To this point, I don't know the answer but confidence was a key in my presentation. Once me and my group started presenting, I introduced our group and our topic, and I did my part, and my group members presented decently as I knew they weren't prepared, Once the presentation was over, I felt a great relief, I felt accomplished, even if one of our group members, forgot their parts in the presentation. In the end, the panel asked several questions about our topic and since I knew my team members were not ready, I stepped up and answered the questions the panel had for us. I was impressed because who would've thought I would be the one who stepped up for our group and our presentation of needle free injections :). In the end, I felt like I could do any other presentation because at least now, I finished one of the most important ones in my life, so far.

"When I do good, I feel good. When I do bad, I feel bad," - Abraham Lincoln

What this quote means to me is that when we good good we feel like good, and when we do bad we feel bad. I feel good when I do simple things, like helping out my dad, when he goes to work... or when I finish my Homework on time or ahead of time.I feel bad when I lie, I feel bad when somebody cannot trust me, I feel terrible when I start to procrastinate and turn in assignments at the last minute.

Patrick's Story

"The Sting of the Scorpion"

Living in the Arabian Desert provides many dangers for humans. From snakes, bee's, and scorpions, there is plenty to take precaution about in the Arabian Desert. One of the most simplest ways of protecting yourself is just by wearing a pair of shoes, in order to protect your feet from any snake bites, scorpion stings, or any other stings/bites from other insects and so forth. But even knowing the basics to protecting yourself wont save you, unless you choose to follow them. Young Patrick, a young boy, who lived in the Arabian Desert, with his family, soon enough learned why we must follow basic principles in life. Every now and then, Patrick's parents always urged young Patrick to always wear a pair of shoes to protect himself from the many dangers, hidden in the Arabian Desert. But one day, in the afternoon, young Patrick decided to wander of and take a small walk in the desert, when he had an option of either wearing shoes or flip-flops. He knew the best choice or the choice his parents would want him to make.... was to wear shoes. But he was lazy, and figured,"Hey, it's gonna be a short walk, what could possibly happen." So young Patrick decides to wear flip-flops, as he walked around the desert. He felt the cold, sand through his feet, when suddenly young Patrick felt a little prick near his ankle, and at first he thought it was a thorn, but as he looked down, it was no other than a scorpion! Patrick felt intense pain as he screamed for help from his parents. His parents were able to hear him as they immediately hurried to get in a car, in order to take him to a nearby hospital which was 2 hours away. Young Patrick felt like he was dying... when he got to the hospital... he got a vaccine which cured the pain. Young Patrick learned a lesson that day, which is we should always choose to do right, regardless of the situation because if it were a snake that bit him...... things could've not turned out as fortunate as they did.

"Always do right." - Mark Twain

What this quote means to me is that we have the power to make make decisions in life, but in the end, regardless of what we choose to do, we should make sure it is always going to be the right choice, or the best choice possible.

When you Tell One Lie Paul Hatch Lyrics

When you tell one lie, it leads to another

So you tell two lies to cover each other

Then you tell three lies and, Oh Brother,

You're in trouble up to your ears!

So you tell four lies to try to protect you

Then you tell five lies so folks won't suspect you

Then you tell six lies and you'll collect
A life filled with worries and fears
'Cause you can't remember how many lies you've told
And half the things you say aren't true
And sometime you'll slip up, you'll trip up and then
Whatever will become of you?
So you tell lie and lie without even trying
And each lie you tell will keep multiplying
'Till the whole wide world will know you're lying
Then you'll be
Suspected
Detected
Rejected
Neglected
Disliked
And you should!
When you lie, your closing the door
On everything good

"When you Tell One Lie it leads to Another"- Paul Hatch

What this quote means to me is that when someone tells one lie..... they typically tend to lie about other things as well. I honestly believe this is true, because honestly, who hasn't lied in their lifetime? It's what makes us humans. we learn from our mistakes and try to prevent those same mistakes in the future. That's why we should simply choose to tell the truth always, because it's the right thing to do.... because if your like me, no one wants to feel guilt.

The 3 Questions:

1. Can people trust me to do what's right?
2. Am I committed to doing my very best?
3. Do I treat people the way I want to be treated?

"If the answers to these questions are YES, there is no way you can fail." - Lou Holtz

Reflection: What this quote means to me is that if we answer these three questions, (for me these are the questions for life), then we are not going to fail. If someone can trust me, we can get along with each other and have a lasting friendship. If we are committed to doing our best, then we will be successful in anything we put effort into. If we treat people with respect, we are most likely to receive it back. Follow these question's answers and let them guide you to happy and successful life. :)
